My friend Sinead (aka Animal Party) dropped by recently for the first-ever jam with the new DAWless setup I've been building. Check out the full session on YouTube!
This setup is based on an Ableton/hardware hybrid approach I've used for years, mostly with my band Loopsy Dazy which featured violin and drums. Moving to a fully DAWless rig is something I've wanted to do for a while. I plan to record and post sessions regularly, tweaking the setup and improving on my ideas as I go. I hope you'll stick around and follow the progress!
I also plan to share more of the technical details for those who are interested. There is a lot happening, from analog and modular synthesis to digital live looping. For now, I'll just highlight one of my favorite aspects of this setup - the guitar is being processed by the synth (Korg Monologue), using its envelopes, filters, and sequencer to shape the sound. It sounds wild, doesn't it!? In contrast, Sinead's beautiful harp playing is simply run through a reverb pedal.

Very cool! I would definitely be interested in the tech details when you're ready to share :)
Thanks! I will be sharing different aspects of the setup and tech details in future videos. There's a lot going on here and it will be evolving over time, so I figured focusing on just certain parts of it at a time makes sense. Will be recording a new video soon!
