The All-American Rejects rocked the Aspen Ideas Festival lawn at nearly 8,000 feet, with frontman Tyson Ritter kicking off his shoes and joking about catching his breath on the Meadows Trail climb. Despite the altitude and valley traffic, the band breezed through early-aughts favorites—“Dirty Little Secret,” “There’s a Place,” “Gives You Hell” and “Move Along”—with surprising energy and fresh vibes.
Between Ritter’s laid-back grass perch and the crew’s clever hill leveling, the whole set felt both intimate and epic. Even the Colorado sun flares couldn’t outshine this high-altitude, high-spirited performance.
