Oklou jetted in from Paris with her five-month-old in tow to reimagine four tracks from her debut album Choke Enough for Tiny Desk. She teamed up with an eight-piece choir and pared back the electronics, leaning on piano, acoustic guitar and a towering marimba—plus playful textures like bubble-wrap crackles—to keep that sense of sonic adventure alive.
With Casey MQ arranging and joining on keys and guitar, Oklou transformed synth-heavy cuts like “blade bird” and “ict” into intimate acoustic folk, slowed down “harvest sky” to a bare recorder-led ballad, and even debuted the unreleased “what’s good.”
