Nova Twins, London’s powerhouse duo Georgia South (bass) and Amy Love (guitar), ripped through NPR’s Tiny Desk with distorted bass, hip-hop rhythms and raspy yowls. They launched into the defiant “Cleopatra,” battled their shadows on “Monsters” (complete with spaceship-sized pedalboards), added a Harp Blaster mic for the supernatural on “Hummingbird,” and closed with the crowd-powered, head-banging “Choose Your Fighter,” flipping the script on what polite girls are “supposed” to play.
