Nova Twins, the London rock duo of Georgia South (bass) and Amy Love (vocals/guitar), tore into their Tiny Desk set with a mega-distorted bassline and raspy yowls. They blasted through “Cleopatra” (a fearless anthem for kicking haters to the curb) and “Monsters” (a raw face-off with their inner demons) before geeking out over their spaceship-sized pedalboards.
In between tracks, they dropped nerdy secret weapons—like Love’s Harp Blaster mic on “Hummingbird”—to give their sound a supernatural edge. With the audience hyping them up, they closed things out by cranking the amps to 11 on the heavy-rock banger “Choose Your Fighter,” flipping the script on what “nice, polite girls” are supposed to play.
