NPR Music: Great Grandpa: Tiny Desk Concert

Great Grandpa, the indie rock wizards from Seattle, recently graced the Tiny Desk with a captivating performance! Evolving from their grungy pop-punk roots, their sound has matured into something beautifully intricate, delving into the mysteries of existence with dreamy twists and doomy distortion, all while maintaining thoughtful intensity at a quieter volume.

Life's certainly thrown some curveballs, with co-vocalist Al Menne navigating a gender transition that's even reconfigured how he sings, and band members now spread across continents. These changes have clearly inspired their sound, showcased by string and pedal steel arrangements of tracks from their albums Four of Arrows and the upcoming Patience, Moonbeam. Turns out, Tiny Desk is also a family affair, with kids and napping babies chilling during sound check!
