Daniel Caesar made a triumphant return to NPR’s Tiny Desk, swapping high production for an upright piano, guitar and a 12-piece choir. He dove into tracks from his soul-searching 2025 album Son of Spergy—“Rain Down,” “Emily’s Song,” “Moon,” “Who Knows” and “Sins of the Father”—and turned a simple setup into one of the most transcendent Tiny Desk moments ever, leaving the crowd in stunned silence before they erupted in applause.
Behind the scenes, producer Bobby Carter, choir director Tiana Kruškić and a tight-knit crew kept the vibe intimate and raw, proving Caesar’s eight-year journey—from Freudian through CASE STUDY 01 and NEVER ENOUGH to today—has culminated in a newfound sense of peace and acceptance.
