clipping. Tiny Desk Concert
Los Angeles trio clipping. turned NPR’s Tiny Desk into a futuristic junkyard, programming tiny robots to smack and vibrate glass bottles, coffee mugs, plastic wrap and even a pizza box as percussion. Producers Jonathan Snipes and William Hutson spent months thrift-shopping the perfect clangs and clinks, layering harmonium, piano, fretless bass and Kid Koala’s turntables for a wildly inventive spin on hip-hop deconstruction.
The set jumps from 2014’s CLPPNG to 2025’s Dead Channel Sky, with Daveed Diggs effortlessly rapping over “needlessly complicated s***” on tracks like “Night of Heaven” and “Work Work.” It’s a thrilling reminder that beauty—and a killer beat—can emerge from everyday debris.
