Detroit-based soul artist Yaya Bey cut a powerful live take of “in a circle” in the KEXP studio on September 23, 2025. She’s joined by Hadaiyah Bey on vocals, Charles Wilson on drums, Hope Nwachukwu on keys and Sweet Corey-Bey on bass. Host Larry Mizell Jr. keeps the conversation flowing while Kevin Suggs engineers the audio, Matt Ogaz handles mastering, and a three-person camera crew (Jim Beckmann, Scott Holpainen & Luke Knecht) plus editor Carlos Cruz capture every moment.
