The Bad Plus Live on KEXP

The Bad Plus stormed the KEXP studio on May 13, 2025, delivering a tight, three-song set featuring “Carrier,” “Tyrone’s Flamingo” and “Anthem For The Earnest.” Anchored by Reid Anderson on bass, Dave King on drums, Ben Monder on guitar and Chris Speed on sax, the quartet pushed their jazz-meets-rock sound to new heights.

Behind the scenes, host John Gilbreath, audio engineer Kevin Suggs and mastering guru Matt Ogaz kept everything sounding crisp, while a crack team of cameramen (Jim Beckmann, Carlos Cruz, Leah Franks & Luke Knecht) captured the vibe and Beckmann handled the final edit.
