MIEN’s KEXP Live Session in a Nutshell
MIEN took over the KEXP studio on September 24, 2025, with a tight five-song set that kicks off with the driving “Counterbalance,” drifts through the hypnotic “Mirror” and “How Could You Run,” then rips into “Evil People” before closing on the rollicking “Western Shouting.” With Alex Maas juggling vocals, taishogoto and bass, John Mark Lapham on keys and samples, Rishi Dhir switching between bass, guitar, keys and backing vox, and Robb Kidd laying down the beats, the band’s chemistry is off the charts.
Behind the scenes, host Jewel Loree kept the vibe flowing while Kevin Suggs engineered the audio, Rishi Dhir mixed, Matt Ogaz mastered, and a talented trio of camera operators (Jim Beckmann, Luke Knecht & Ettie Wahl) plus editor Luke Knecht captured every moment.
