Jembaa Groove crashed into the KEXP studio on October 3, 2025, dropping fiery live versions of “Dabia” and “Namo.” Fronted by Eric Owusu’s percussion-driven vocals and anchored by Yannick Nolting’s basslines, the six-piece outfit (with Babatunde Agonglo on guitar, Peter Somuah on trumpet, Szabolcs Bognar on keys and Nir Sabag on drums) brought an electrifying, groove-heavy session you won’t want to miss.
Behind the scenes, Lace Cadence guided the vibe as host while Kevin Suggs captured every beat, Fabio Buemi mixed the magic and Julian Martlew put the final polish on the mastering. A camera crew led by Jim Beckmann (with Carlos Cruz, Scott Holpainen, Luke Knecht and Ettie Wahl) tackled all the angles—because when Jembaa’s in the house, you need every shot.
