Jembaa Groove brought their vibrant Afro-jazz vibes to KEXP’s studio on October 3, 2025, for a live take on their track “Amale.” Fronted by Eric Owusu’s vocals and percussion, the band grooves with Yannick Nolting on bass, Babatunde Agonglo on guitar, Peter Somuah’s trumpet flourishes, Szabolcs Bognar’s keys and Nir Sabag’s drum beats—all under Lace Cadence’s spirited hosting.
Behind the scenes, Kevin Suggs captured the audio, Fabio Buemi mixed the session and Julian Martlew mastered it to perfection, while a crew of five cameras (Jim Beckmann, Carlos Cruz, Scott Holpainen, Luke Knecht & Ettie Wahl) shot the action, later pieced together by editor Jim Beckmann.
