I haven't thought about this at all lately, but as a millennial, I feel obligated to share these classics from growing up:
Good ol' Yann Tiersen and Amelie (I'll still occassionally play through the entire book of sheet music I acquired when I was 16 😂):
Garden State Soundtrack: For some reason, I greatly associated this album with The Shins but looking at it now they only have two songs?? Also, remember the obsession with Zach Braff? I spent way too much time watching Scrubs as a result of this movie.
Very different from @ben's share earlier, which I appreciated but kind of balked at initially but am now listening to because WHY NOT! (I'm still recovering from being an ex-wanna-be-indie-music-snob):

Into the Spider-verse: Maybe the best movie soundtrack of all time?

Anyway, what about you? Do you ever just put on a soundtrack?

Not fully related but, I tried for days to find that Alt-J song, "Buffalo" that you have of course heard before....but doesn't exist anywhere on Spotify. I realize now bcs it's in the soundtrack of Silver Linings Playbook and unreleased otherwise.
Regardless of what you think of the film, the Donnie Darko soundtrack absolutely slaps. I'm talking about the 80s dark-pop soundtrack, not the original score (which is also great btw).
